“Silver Linings” by Atticus Adams

materials – aluminum mesh, monofilament

My Grandmother loved idioms – “he’s pulling your leg”, “the early bird gets the worm”,” just wait till my ship comes in”, etc… As a kid I loved them too – what fun pictures they brought to mind. This installation is based on .” every cloud has a silver lining” but I’m choosing to show a bunch of silver linings and no clouds. And just as idioms contain literal and figurative meanings – the installation uses aluminum mesh or screen that has a material duality of being an industrial and an artistic medium.
